My name is stig åkerblom and I live in Vågbro, Norrala, a few kilometres north of Söderhamn. I am a retired civil servant.
I have been making knives since 1994. I took an interest in making knives just by pure chance. I have been a member of the committee of an adult educational association here in Söderhamn and one day one of our employees asked me if I was interested in attending a course where I would learn how to make knives. I was then and I still am.
Today I lead courses myself. I guess some of this handicraft runs in my blood, since my father was a craftsman. After his retirement he worked a lot with making things out of wood.
For many years dogs, and German shepherds in particular, have been a great part of my spare time activities. I were breeding German shepherds for 38 years.
Other spare time activities are photography and angling.
